                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 365
 In Memory
 of
 Eugene Bothe
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the people
 of Brenham in mourning the loss of Eugene Bothe, who died March
 11, 2025, at the age of 92; and
 WHEREAS, Gene was born April 28, 1932, in Meyersville and
 was raised in Wiedeville, near Brenham; he learned the value of
 hard work and determination from an early age, which helped to
 guide and direct him throughout his life; he worked in cotton and
 hay fields and drove a milk truck before beginning his rewarding
 career in the automotive industry at Rankin Motors; and
 WHEREAS, In 1970, Mr. Bothe became a partner at Rankin
 Motors, and in 1974, he bought the dealership, which was renamed
 Bothe Ford, and owned it for 12 years; he continued his zeal for
 car sales at Tegeler Toyota, and he was a cherished employee for
 more than three decades until the time of his passing; and
 WHEREAS, On September 18, 1955, he married Elois Kochwelp,
 and they were blessed with five children, Jerry, Roxanna,
 Michael, Ronald, and Pamela, whom they raised by loving example;
 his eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren were a
 source of pride and joy to him and enriched his life
 immeasurably; and
 WHEREAS, Gene found much fulfillment in sharing his
 passion and involvement in the cattle business with family and
 friends, and his dedication to his community and love of dancing
 at celebrations brought joy to many; and
 WHEREAS, A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and
 coworker at Tegeler Toyota, Gene leaves behind memories that
 will be treasured forever by his loving family and many friends
 and by all who were privileged to share in his life; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
 family of Eugene Bothe; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
 Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
 memory of Gene Bothe.
