13 | 19 | | Sciences to Austin, Washington, D.C., and abroad, where they work |

15 | 21 | | in agriculture and natural resources allow them to offer |

16 | 22 | | specialized knowledge to the offices they serve, and over 1,000 |

42 | 47 | | WHEREAS, Since 2010, Tarleton State University has sent |

43 | 48 | | numerous interns to Austin and Washington, D.C., where they work |

44 | 49 | | on an array of issues; their strong background and interest in |
---|
45 | 50 | | such topics as public policy, history, education, criminal |
---|
46 | 51 | | justice, health care, and agriculture equip them to offer |
---|
47 | 52 | | specialized knowledge to legislators; the current Tarleton |

48 | 53 | | intern is Lacy Malone; and |
---|
49 | 54 | | WHEREAS, Through the years, these programs have helped |
---|
50 | 55 | | exceptional students deepen their understanding of legislative |
---|
51 | 56 | | processes and general government functionality while developing |
---|
52 | 57 | | important professional skills and critical peer networks, and |
---|
53 | 58 | | past program participants have gone on to make vital |
---|
54 | 59 | | contributions and assume leadership roles in a variety of arenas; |

55 | 60 | | these outstanding young people who are serving with the utmost |

56 | 61 | | integrity and are giving of their time and talents throughout |

57 | 62 | | this legislative session may indeed take pride in their |

58 | 63 | | achievements and their selfless service to the Lone Star State; |
