7+ SENATE RESOLUTION
28 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
39 recognize the state's county treasurers and to join them in
410 celebrating April 8, 2025, as Texas County Treasurers Day at the
511 State Capitol; and
612 WHEREAS, Elected by voters for four-year terms, county
713 treasurers fulfill a wide-ranging array of duties as prescribed
814 by the Texas Local Government Code and County Commissioners
915 Courts; and
1016 WHEREAS, There are currently 244 county treasurers in
1117 Texas, and two-thirds serve in rural counties with fewer than
1218 25,000 residents; these dedicated public officials serve as
1319 chief custodians of county finances and are tasked with
1420 receiving, disbursing, and providing oversight of all county
1521 funds; and
1622 WHEREAS, In addition to performing explicit statutory
17- duties, county treasurers serve as the chief liaison between their
18- county and depository banks, and many help to meet their county's
19- unique needs by providing versatile services; these may include
20- services in such areas as human resource administration, auditing,
21- and payroll management, and county treasurers are often entrusted
22- with providing treasurer duties for various county entities; and

2734 aspects of county governance; now, therefore, be it
2835 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
29- Legislature, hereby commend the state's county treasurers for their
30- diligent financial stewardship and their invaluable contributions
31- to the people and communities of the Lone Star State and extend to
32- all best wishes for a memorable County Treasurers Day at the
33- Capitol; and, be it further
