	8	+	WHEREAS, Friends of the Dallas Public Library is marking the
	9	+	75th anniversary of its founding in 2025, and this occasion
4	10		provides a welcome opportunity to recognize the organization's
5	11		outstanding record of service to the residents of Dallas; and
6	12		WHEREAS, Established in 1950, this venerable nonprofit
7		-	organization helps support the Dallas Public Library's 30
8		-	locations and nearly 400 employees; by launching grassroots
9		-	campaigns and securing grants, the group has raised funds that
10		-	have allowed the library to expand hours, increase staffing,
11		-	install Reading Ready Play Spaces at all branches, and finance
12		-	staff development, early childhood literacy, child and adult
13		-	education programs, and multicultural family programming;
14		-	moreover, the organization played a vital role in passing a 2017
15		-	bond that funded the construction of a new library, the
16		-	replacement of another, and a range of improvements at the
17		-	central branch; and
