28 WHEREAS, Juvenile justice professionals are gathering in
39 Austin on April 16, 2025, for Texas Juvenile Justice Professional
410 Day at the State Capitol; and
5- WHEREAS, One of the most advanced juvenile justice systems
6- in the nation, the Texas network is composed of 164
7- community-based probation departments, which serve youth and
8- families in all 254 counties of the Lone Star State in
9- partnership with the Texas Juvenile Justice Department; and
11+ WHEREAS, One of the most advanced juvenile justice systems in

13+ probation departments, which serve youth and families in all 254
14+ counties of the Lone Star State in partnership with the Texas
15+ Juvenile Justice Department; and
1016 WHEREAS, The juvenile probation departments handle 100
1117 percent of the referrals of young people to the juvenile justice
1218 system each year through the efforts of more than 8,200 certified
1319 juvenile probation and supervision officers, and departments
1420 continue to provide services at the local level to 99 percent of
1521 those referrals; and
1622 WHEREAS, Every day, the dedicated men and women of the
17- juvenile justice system make a positive difference in the lives
18- of young Texans, helping them to embark on a better path, and in
19- so doing, they contribute to both the strength of their families
20- and the safety of our communities; now, therefore, be it
21- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
22- Legislature, hereby recognize April 16, 2025, as Texas Juvenile
23- Justice Professional Day at the State Capitol and extend to our
24- state's outstanding juvenile justice professionals sincere best
25- wishes for continued success in their important work.
