5	8		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
6	9		commemorates the life of Connie Jane Hunt, who died February 28,
7	10		2025, at the age of 88; and
8	11		WHEREAS, Connie Jane Prince was born in Memphis,
9	12		Tennessee, on March 7, 1936; she married Ed Hunt on October 30,
10	13		1954, and the couple shared a rewarding union that spanned more
11	14		than seven decades; they were blessed with a son, Corbin, who
12	15		preceded his mother in death; and
13	16		WHEREAS, Mrs. Hunt lived in locations around the world
14	17		while her husband served in the military, and she held office
15	18		jobs wherever he was stationed; the couple later settled in the
16	19		Magnolia Beach community of Calhoun County, where they lived for
17	20		three decades; and
18	21		WHEREAS, An engaged citizen, Mrs. Hunt was actively
19	22		involved in the Calhoun County Republican Club,and she served as
20	23		a mentor to many of its members and fostered connections with
21	24		Republicans across the state; she helped the We the People
22	25		program at Calhoun High School to establish a field trip
23	26		experience where students travel to visit the State Capitol and
24	27		learn more about the legislative process; a woman of strong
25	28		faith, she also gave freely of her time and talents to her church
26	29		community throughout her life; and
27	30		WHEREAS, A beloved member of her community, Connie leaves
28	31		behind many special memories that will be forever cherished by
29	32		her family and friends and by all who were privileged to share in
30	33		her life; now, therefore, be it
31	34		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
32	35		Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family of
33	36		Connie Jane Hunt; and, be it further
34	37		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
35	38		her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
36	39		Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
37	40		memory of Connie Hunt.
