2	8		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	9		recognize members of Texas Democratic Women who are gathering at
4	10		the State Capitol on April 15, 2025, to advocate for women and
5	11		their families during Blue Ribbon Lobby Day; and
6	12		WHEREAS, Texas Democratic Women was established in 1987 to
7	13		promote the involvement of women in the political process and to
8	14		assist in the growth of the Democratic Party in Texas; Blue
9	15		Ribbon Lobby Day helps to uphold this mission by bringing
10	16		together like-minded women and political leaders to highlight
11	17		important issues that concern Texas women, including public
12	18		education, health care, and economic security; and
13	19		WHEREAS, During this day of action, Democratic women meet
14	20		with state legislators to discuss the rights women have to equal
15	21		opportunities and equal protections under the law and to affirm
16	22		the integral role women play in the economic prosperity of this
17	23		state; and
18	24		WHEREAS, Blue Ribbon Lobby Day presents an opportunity to
19	25		call attention to the concerns of Texas women and their families
20	26		and to work to affect positive change in the Lone Star State; now,
21	27		therefore, be it
22	28		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
23		-	Legislature, hereby commend the members of Texas Democratic Women
24		-	and extend to the visiting women and advocates best wishes for a
25		-	rewarding Blue Ribbon Lobby Day at the Capitol; and, be it further
