| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Alyssa Barrera Mason for her outstanding contributions |

| 4 | 4 | | to the City of Corpus Christi during her years of service as |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | executive director of the Corpus Christi Downtown Management |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | District; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Driven to make a positive difference in her |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | hometown, Alyssa Mason earned a master's degree in public |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | administration and a bachelor's degree in business |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | administration from Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi; she |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | went on to earn certifications in economic development, and she |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | served her fellow citizens in a variety of roles in local |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | government before she was hired to her current position at the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Corpus Christi Downtown Management District in 2018; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Alyssa's exemplary tenure of leadership has |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | facilitated more than $100 million in development and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | revitalization projects in downtown Corpus Christi, and she has |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | established incentive programs to increase economic growth and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | expand public art awareness, such as the monthly ArtWalk and the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Mural Program; she has led her staff by example and cultivated |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | lasting partnerships to improve and preserve the city's thriving |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | downtown community; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Alyssa was honored as an Emerging Leader in 2022 |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | by the International Downtown Association; she has set lasting |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | standards for excellence at the Corpus Christi, Downtown |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Management District, and her presence will be greatly missed; |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, hereby commend Alyssa Barrera Mason on her |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | outstanding career and her many contributions to Corpus Christi |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | and extend to her best wishes in all her future endeavors; and, be |
