	7	+	SENATE RESOLUTION
5	8		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
6	9		commemorates the life of Louise Mauro Strauch, who died on
7	10		January 23, 2025, at the age of 97; and
8	11		WHEREAS, Louise was born on January 14, 1928, in
9	12		Montgomery, Alabama, and she moved with her family to Dallas as a
10	13		young girl; she grew up there and resided in Dallas until
11	14		marrying at the age of 18; and
12	15		WHEREAS, Lou, as she was affectionately known, and Frank
13	16		Mauro, her late first husband, relocated to Bryan in 1946, and
14	17		they were blessed with four children; she and Frank enjoyed 32
15	18		years of marriage together until the time of his passing in 1978,
16	19		and the family lived in more than 25 cities over the years; and
17	20		WHEREAS, Years after Frank's passing, Lou was blessed to
18	21		again find love and married Charlie Strauch, and they shared many
19	22		joyous years together traveling the world and visiting with
20	23		family and friends, including many trips to her beloved vacation
21	24		home in Crested Butte, Colorado; and
22	25		WHEREAS, Lou's Catholic faith guided her in her daily life
23	26		and throughout hardships, seasons of blessings, and many moves to
24	27		new cities and parishes; regardless of where she lived, she was
25	28		always involved in her community and the church, and her
26	29		generosity and kindness made a positive and lasting impact in the
27	30		lives of innumerable people; and
28	31		WHEREAS, Above all, Lou cherished spending time with her
29	32		loved ones; her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren,
30	33		and great-great-grandchild were each a source of pride and joy to
31	34		her and enriched her life immeasurably; she gave unselfishly to
32	35		others, and her wisdom, warmth, and enthusiasm for life will be
33	36		treasured forever by all who were privileged to share in her
34	37		life; now, therefore, be it
35	38		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
36	39		Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
37	40		family of Louise Mauro Strauch; and, be it further
38	41		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
39	42		her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
40	43		Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
41	44		memory of Lou Mauro Strauch.
