5	5	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
6	6	commemorates the life of Manuela Garza Sanchez, who died February
7	7	11, 2025, at the age of 88; and
8	8	WHEREAS, Born to Victorino and Francisca Garza on July 3,
9	9	1936, Manuela was a beloved matriarch and a treasured member of
10	10	the Robstown community; and
11	11	WHEREAS, This gracious and resilient woman was guided in
12	12	life by her unwavering spiritual devotion, and she found solace
13	13	and strength as a longtime parishioner of Saint Anthony Catholic
14	14	Church; for more than 30 years, she provided exemplary care and
15	15	comfort to countless individuals as a nurse's aid and licensed
16	16	vocational nurse at Riverside Hospital and Doctors Regional
17	17	Hospital in Corpus Christi; and
18	18	WHEREAS, Manuela was a loving mother of eight children, and
19	19	she was blessed with 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren,
20	20	and three great-great-grandchildren who enriched her life
21	21	immeasurably; and
22	22	WHEREAS, Admired for her many talents, Manuela was a gifted
23	23	seamstress and craftswoman who found peace in reading and joy in
24	24	being in her kitchen; she was a legendary cook, and she expressed
25	25	her love for friends and family through the many delicious meals,
26	26	tamales, and carrot cakes she shared with them; and
27	27	WHEREAS, Manuela Garza Sanchez was a woman of boundless
28	28	compassion, warmth, and generosity, and she leaves behind
29	29	memories that will long be cherished by all who were privileged
30	30	to share in her life; now, therefore, be it
31	31	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
32	32	Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
33	33	family of Manuela Garza Sanchez; and, be it further
34	34	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
35	35	her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
36	36	Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
37	37	memory of Manuela Garza Sanchez.
