2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

3 | 3 | | recognize Rob Kepple for his outstanding career with the Texas |
---|
4 | 4 | | District and County Attorneys Association and for his 22 years of |
---|
5 | 5 | | leadership as the organization's executive director; and |
---|
6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of George Washington University Law |
---|
7 | 7 | | School, Rob Kepple began his career by serving as an associate at |
---|
8 | 8 | | the Fulbright and Jaworski law firm in Houston; he went on to |
---|
9 | 9 | | distinguish himself as a prosecutor in Harris County, working |
---|
10 | 10 | | under the legendary district attorney Johnny Holmes, and he rose |
---|
11 | 11 | | to become a chief felony prosecutor; and |
---|
12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Rob joined the Texas District and County |
---|
13 | 13 | | Attorneys Association in 1990 to oversee legal training of |
---|
14 | 14 | | prosecutors throughout the state and to represent prosecutors at |
---|
15 | 15 | | the State Capitol; he assisted in drafting and implementing the |
---|
16 | 16 | | 1993 Texas Penal Code, and in 2002, he accepted the role as |
---|
17 | 17 | | executive director of the association; and |
---|
18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Under Rob's skilled leadership, the Texas |
---|
19 | 19 | | District and County Attorneys Association has grown to become the |
---|
20 | 20 | | largest statewide association of prosecutors in the nation; his |
---|
21 | 21 | | impressive tenure is marked by such notable accomplishments as |
---|
22 | 22 | | the formation of the Texas District and County Attorneys |
---|
23 | 23 | | Foundation and the Prosecutor Management Institute, and he has |
---|
24 | 24 | | been an indispensable asset to numerous legislators and aspiring |
---|
25 | 25 | | prosecutors at The University of Texas School of Law; and |
---|
26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Rob Kepple is an esteemed legal expert who has |
---|
27 | 27 | | left an indelible mark on the practice and application of law in |
---|
28 | 28 | | Texas, and his leadership as executive director of the |
---|
29 | 29 | | association will be greatly missed by all; now, therefore, be it |
---|
30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
---|
31 | 31 | | Legislature, hereby commend Rob Kepple on his exemplary career |
---|
32 | 32 | | and his many contributions to the Lone Star State and extend to |
---|
33 | 33 | | him best wishes in all his future endeavors; and, be it further |
---|
34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
---|
35 | 35 | | him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
