| 6 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The month of April in 2025 is being observed by |

| 7 | 13 | | the National Association of Counties as National County |
|---|
| 8 | 14 | | Government Month and offers the nation's citizens the |

| 9 | 15 | | opportunity to recognize and pay tribute to the many |
|---|
| 10 | 16 | | contributions made by county governments; and |
|---|
| 11 | 17 | | WHEREAS, County government is the oldest form of local |
|---|
| 12 | 18 | | government in the United States and addresses many critical |
|---|
| 13 | 19 | | issues, including public safety and justice, emergency response |
|---|
| 14 | 20 | | services, election security, maintenance and safety of records, |
|---|
| 15 | 21 | | indigent health care, and mental health services; and |
|---|
| 16 | | - | WHEREAS, There are 254 counties in Texas, and the dedicated |
|---|
| 17 | | - | individuals who serve our counties as elected or appointed |
|---|
| 18 | | - | officials not only work diligently to meet the needs of citizens |
|---|
| 19 | | - | but also commit themselves to finding solutions to problems to |
|---|
| 20 | | - | benefit all Texans; and |
|---|
| 22 | + | WHEREAS, There are 254 counties in Texas, and the |

| 25 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|---|
| 26 | 32 | | Legislature, hereby commend the county officials of this state |
|---|
| 27 | 33 | | for their countless contributions to Texas and welcome members of |
|---|
| 28 | 34 | | the Texas Association of Counties to Austin as they celebrate |
|---|
| 29 | 35 | | County Government Day at the Capitol; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 31 | 37 | | the Texas Association of Counties as an expression of esteem from |
|---|
