| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | citizens of Georgetown in honoring the life of Kurt Robert Lentz, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | a devoted public servant and beloved member of his community, who |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | died on April 11, 2025, at the age of 33; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Born on August 12, 1991, in Orange, California, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | to Robert and Jill Lentz, Kurt distinguished himself as a man of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | unwavering faith and immense compassion; he was a devoted |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | husband, father, son, brother, and friend, and he enriched the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him through his |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | warmth, his humility, and his generous spirit; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Kurt began a rewarding career as a first |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | responder in 2014; he served as a firefighter and paramedic with |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Bexar County Emergency Service District 7 Fire Rescue in the San |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Antonio area before joining the Georgetown Fire Department in |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | August of 2019; in 2020, he was assigned to Station 1, known as |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | the "Big House," where he became a trusted mentor and a respected |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | and admired colleague and leader; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Kurt was noted for his unwavering faith, his |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | infectious joy, and his deep compassion for others; his steadfast |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | commitment to service earned him the esteem of his fellow first |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | responders and the gratitude of countless citizens whose lives |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | were touched by him in their moments of crisis; above all, he |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | deeply cherished his family, and it was clear to all who knew him |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | that his beloved wife Rachael and his son Ryan were his greatest |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | pride and joy; and |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, Kurt Lentz leaves behind a legacy of courage, |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | devotion, and selfless service, and he will be forever remembered |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | with admiration and gratitude by his loving family, by his many |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | friends and colleagues, and by all who were privileged to share |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | in his life; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | family of Kurt Robert Lentz; and, be it further |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|---|
| 43 | 43 | | Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|---|
| 44 | 44 | | memory of Kurt Lentz. |
