77 SENATE RESOLUTION
88 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
99 citizens of Georgetown in honoring the life of Kurt Robert Lentz,
1010 a devoted public servant and beloved member of his community, who
1111 died on April 11, 2025, at the age of 33; and
1212 WHEREAS, Born on August 12, 1991, in Orange, California,
1313 to Robert and Jill Lentz, Kurt distinguished himself as a man of
1414 unwavering faith and immense compassion; he was a devoted
1515 husband, father, son, brother, and friend, and he enriched the
1616 lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him through his
1717 warmth, his humility, and his generous spirit; and
1818 WHEREAS, Kurt began a rewarding career as a first
1919 responder in 2014; he served as a firefighter and paramedic with
2020 Bexar County Emergency Service District 7 Fire Rescue in the San
2121 Antonio area before joining the Georgetown Fire Department in
2222 August of 2019; in 2020, he was assigned to Station 1, known as
2323 the "Big House," where he became a trusted mentor and a respected
2424 and admired colleague and leader; and
2525 WHEREAS, Kurt was noted for his unwavering faith, his
2626 infectious joy, and his deep compassion for others; his steadfast
2727 commitment to service earned him the esteem of his fellow first
2828 responders and the gratitude of countless citizens whose lives
2929 were touched by him in their moments of crisis; above all, he
3030 deeply cherished his family, and it was clear to all who knew him
3131 that his beloved wife Rachael and his son Ryan were his greatest
3232 pride and joy; and
3333 WHEREAS, Kurt Lentz leaves behind a legacy of courage,
3434 devotion, and selfless service, and he will be forever remembered
3535 with admiration and gratitude by his loving family, by his many
3636 friends and colleagues, and by all who were privileged to share
3737 in his life; now, therefore, be it
3838 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
3939 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
4040 family of Kurt Robert Lentz; and, be it further
4141 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
4242 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
4343 Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
4444 memory of Kurt Lentz.
