28 WHEREAS, The Texas Woman's University athletic program
3- furthered its remarkable legacy of excellence during the
4- 2024-2025 sports year; and
9+ furthered its remarkable legacy of excellence during the 2024-2025
10+ sports year; and
511 WHEREAS, Among the school's many achievements, the Texas
612 Woman's gymnastics team clinched a first-place finish at the 2025
7- Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational
8- Championships, marking the 13th time in program history that the
9- Pioneers collected the national crown; competing on April 12, TWU
10- set a program record in the balance beam event with a score of
11- 49.325 and posted an overall score of 196.175, just fractions off
12- the school record it set at a meet on March 9; at the WCGNIC
13- individual event finals, Kaitlyn Hoiland earned the national
14- championship in the uneven bars and a silver medal in the vault;
15- in addition, Sophie Hernandez placed second in the balance beam
16- competition, and Trinity Caffey took home the bronze medal in the
17- vault; and
13+ Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championships,
14+ marking the 13th time in program history that the Pioneers

2227 Kenney, and Steelie King as WCGA Division II All-American
23- selections for the regular season; additionally, Bailey Upton
24- was honored as the Midwest Independent Conference Newcomer of the
25- Year; head coach Lisa Bowerman was recognized as the WCGA
26- Division II Coach of the Year, and assistant coaches Zan Jones
27- and Kyana George shared honors as both the WCGA Division II and
28- MIC Assistant Coaches of the Year; and
29- WHEREAS, In just its eighth year of competition, the
30- Pioneer Pride dance team realized a milestone when it secured the
31- Dance Spirit Rally Division II championship at the National
32- Cheerleaders Association & National Dance Alliance College
33- Nationals; in addition, the pom squad finished first in the
34- Spirit Rally division and garnered the Innovative Choreography
35- Award; the Spirit Rally Division II title was the first in
36- program history, capping off a stellar year during which the TWU
37- athletes swept the field at the American Dance/Drill Team
38- Competition, winning the pom and hip-hop events en route to being
39- crowned the overall Division II champion for the first time;
40- moreover, TWU was awarded a gold bid at NDA Summer Camp and placed
41- second in the pom competition at the USA Collegiate
42- Championships; and
28+ selections for the regular season; additionally, Bailey Upton was

4347 WHEREAS, The TWU women's basketball team also enjoyed an
4448 exceptional campaign, advancing all the way to the regional
4549 championship game of the NCAA Division II national tournament and
46- setting the school record for fewest losses in a season by
47- dropping only two contests; the Pioneers claimed their third
48- straight Lone Star Conference regular-season title, and head
49- coach Beth Jillson recorded her 300th career victory;
50- furthermore, Ashley Ingram set program records in points and
51- rebounds and was named a College Sports Communicators Academic
52- All-American for the second consecutive year; and
53- WHEREAS, Through hard work and an unwavering resolve to
54- give their very best, the student-athletes of Texas Woman's
55- University have brought great credit to their school and their
56- community, and they may indeed reflect with pride on all that
57- they have accomplished; now, therefore, be it
58- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
59- Legislature, hereby congratulate the Texas Woman's University
60- athletic program for its success during the 2024-2025 sports year
61- and extend to all those associated with the school sincere best
62- wishes for the future; and, be it further
