| 8 | 14 | | students and 26 faculty members; and |
|---|
| 9 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Today, Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi is a |
|---|
| 10 | 16 | | vibrant research institution recognized for its rigorous |
|---|
| 11 | 17 | | programs and skilled faculty; the university is the academic home |
|---|
| 12 | 18 | | of more than 10,000 students who are preparing for the future in |
|---|
| 13 | 19 | | their choice of 85 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral |
|---|
| 14 | 20 | | programs; and |
|---|
| 15 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi is one of |

| 16 | 22 | | 135 institutions listed as an R2-High Research Activity campus by |
|---|
| 17 | 23 | | the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education; the university is |
|---|
| 18 | 24 | | continuing a proud and historic legacy of teaching excellence and |

| 19 | 25 | | community engagement, and its 78th anniversary is truly cause for |
|---|
| 20 | 26 | | celebration; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 21 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |

| 22 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby recognize Texas A&M University--Corpus |

| 23 | 29 | | Christi as a model institution for excellence in higher education |

| 24 | 30 | | and extend to its leaders, faculty, and staff congratulations on |
