2	8		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	9		recognize Corpus Christi Ballet on the grand occasion of the
4	10		company's 50th anniversary; and
5	11		WHEREAS, Founded in 1974, Corpus Christi Ballet has
6	12		remained committed to its mission to stimulate, promote, and
7	13		develop interest in the art of ballet in South Texas through
8	14		performance and education; over the last half-century, the
9	15		company has captivated audiences with stunning presentations of
10	16		famous classics and productions of high artistic quality; and
11	17		WHEREAS, Corpus Christi Ballet provides a medium for
12	18		expression through which performers, choreographers, and
13	19		composers may further their education in ballet, jazz, modern
14	20		dance, and performance production; each year, the ballet casts
15	21		more than 200 students to perform classical and modern works,
16	22		enabling thousands of young dancers throughout the company's
17	23		history to learn, perform, and thrive on stage with artistic
18	24		professionals as they entertain and educate captivated
19	25		audiences; and
20	26		WHEREAS, In addition to marking 50 years of Coastal Bend
21	27		performances in 2025, the ballet company is also celebrating 40
22	28		years of success under the international experience and astute
23	29		leadership of artistic director Cristina Stirling Munro, an Emmy
24	30		Award-winning dancer, producer, and choreographer; and
25	31		WHEREAS, Corpus Christi Ballet has enriched the lives of
26	32		thousands of dancers, aspiring performers, and patrons of the
27	33		arts in the Lone Star State, and its 50th anniversary is truly
28	34		cause for celebration; now, therefore, be it
29	35		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
30	36		Legislature, hereby commend the company members, directors, and
31	37		supporters of Corpus Christi Ballet for their outstanding
32	38		contributions to this exemplary cultural institution in South
33	39		Texas and extend to all congratulations on five decades of
34	40		success and best wishes for the future; and, be it further
35	41		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
36	42		the Corpus Christi Ballet as an expression of esteem from the
37	43		Texas Senate.
