	8	+	WHEREAS, Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is a spiritual

	12	+	WHEREAS, In 1992, Falun Dafa was introduced to the public in

10	16		WHEREAS, Falun Dafa emphasizes the attainment of spiritual
11		-	growth through the study of Falun Dafa teachings and through
12		-	gentle exercises and meditation; its teachings encourage
13		-	learners to let go of unhealthy attachments as they strive to
14		-	attune their lives to the universal qualities of truth,
15		-	compassion, and forbearance; and

21		-	doing, they have demonstrated the value of life and human dignity
22		-	in the face of oppression; and

28		-	have enriched the lives of their fellow Texans by sharing their

31		-	and other organizations affiliated with Falun Dafa have
32		-	furthered its outreach efforts in the United States and beyond;

34		-	WHEREAS, Followers of Falun Dafa constitute an important
35		-	part of the diverse cultural fabric of Texas, and Falun Dafa Day
36		-	provides a fitting opportunity to recognize their devotion to the
37		-	teachings of their faith and to the ideals of peace and freedom;
38		-	now, therefore, be it
39		-	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
40		-	Legislature, hereby recognize May 13, 2025, as Falun Dafa Day and
41		-	extend sincere best wishes to all practitioners of Falun Dafa who
42		-	call our state home.
