| 8 | 14 | | associate degrees and certifications to prepare students for |
|---|
| 9 | 15 | | success in future educational endeavors and employment in a range |
|---|
| 10 | 16 | | of technical fields; and |
|---|
| 11 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Texas State Technical College has 11 campuses |

| 12 | 18 | | located in Abilene, Breckenridge, Brownwood, New Braunfels, Fort |
|---|
| 13 | 19 | | Bend County, Harlingen, Marshall, North Texas, Sweetwater, Waco, |
|---|
| 14 | 20 | | and East Williamson County, and it will soon open a new campus in |
|---|
| 15 | 21 | | Denton County; in recent years, the college has seen an increase |
|---|
| 16 | 22 | | in enrollment, awards conferred, and job placement of graduates, |
|---|
| 17 | 23 | | and it utilizes a funding model determined by student earnings |
|---|
| 18 | 24 | | and associated state tax revenues; and |
|---|
| 19 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Texas State Technical College provides Texans |
|---|
| 20 | 26 | | with the opportunity to acquire leading-edge technical skills |
|---|
| 21 | 27 | | and expertise in their career fields, and it is indeed fitting to |
|---|
| 22 | 28 | | recognize the school for its contributions to the success and |
|---|
| 23 | 29 | | economic prosperity of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |

| 25 | 31 | | Legislature, hereby commend the students, administrators, and |
