SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 71
WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Independent Automobile
Dealers Association are gathering at the State Capitol on
February 11, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1944, TIADA is a nonprofit trade
association dedicated to supporting Texas independent automobile
dealers through advocacy, education, and promotion; the
organization provides its members with a range of resources,
among them professional development opportunities and legal
services; and
WHEREAS, With more than 1,400 members, TIADA plays a
significant role in the economy; during the 2024 fiscal year,
Texas motor vehicle sales and rental tax revenue totaled some
$6.8 billion, and independent automobile dealers were
instrumental in collecting a portion of those revenues;
moreover, many of the association's members further contribute
to their communities through charitable donations and civic
involvement; and
WHEREAS, For more than eight decades, TIADA has worked
tirelessly to support independent automobile dealers, and this
occasion provides a fitting opportunity to honor the
organization and its members; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
Legislature, hereby recognize February 11, 2025, as Texas
Independent Automobile Dealers Association Day at the State
Capitol and extend a warm welcome to the visiting delegation;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
prepared for TIADA as an expression of high regard from the
Texas Senate.
