2	8		WHEREAS, Members of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce are
3	9		gathering at the State Capitol for the organization's Austin
4	10		Legislative Fly-In on February 18 and 19, 2025; and
5	11		WHEREAS, The two-day event provides an opportunity for
6	12		chamber members to directly engage with the legislative process;
7	13		working in behalf of their community, delegates will meet with
8		-	state lawmakers to advocate for the chamber's priorities,
9		-	~~including~~ health care initiatives for underinsured and uninsured
10		-	~~residents,~~ support for sustainable infrastructure development
11		-	~~and the Dallas~~ Area Rapid Transit multimodal system, funding for
12		-	~~public safety~~ entities, and public education incentives to
13		-	~~recruit and retain~~ teachers and for career and technology
14		-	~~education and workforce~~ readiness programs; and

16	22		Commerce has played a vital role in strengthening the area's

18	24		five-star accreditation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and
19	25		under the exemplary leadership of president and chief executive
20	26		officer Julie Snyder and the executive committee and board of
21	27		directors, it creates outreach opportunities for entrepreneurs
22	28		while helping to ensure that employers have access to a qualified
23	29		workforce by establishing collaborations between educational
24	30		institutions and businesses; and
25		-	WHEREAS, The Richardson Chamber of Commerce is a strong
