2020 Combat Zone Tax Parity Act’’. 5

3636 clude so much of the compensation as does not ex-5
3737 ceed the maximum amount specified in subsection 6
3838 (b) for active service as an employee of the United 7
3939 States for any month during any part of which such 8

4141 ‘‘(A) served in a combat zone, or 10
4242 ‘‘(B) was hospitalized as a result of 11
4343 wounds, disease, or injury incurred while serv-12
4444 ing in a combat zone, 13
4545 but this paragraph shall not apply for any month be-14
4646 ginning more than 2 years after the date of the ter-15
4747 mination of combatant activities in such zone. 16
4848 ‘‘(2) D
4949 EFINITIONS.—For purposes of this sub-17

5151 ‘‘(A) E
5252 MPLOYEE.—The term ‘employee’ 19
5353 has the meaning given such term by section 20
5454 2105 of title 5, United States Code. 21
5555 ‘‘(B) A
5656 CTIVE SERVICE.—The term ‘active 22
5757 service’ means active Federal service by an em-23
5858 ployee.’’. 24
