3232 NGENERAL.—Section 105(a) of the Child Abuse 3
3333 Prevention and Treatment Act (42 U.S.C. 5106(a)) is 4
3434 amended by adding at the end the following: 5
3535 ‘‘(8) C
3636 HILD SEXUAL ABUSE AWARENESS FIELD - 6
3737 INITIATED GRANTS.— 7
3838 ‘‘(A) I
3939 N GENERAL.—The Secretary may 8
4040 award grants under this subsection to entities, 9
4141 for periods of up to 5 years, in support of field- 10
4242 initiated innovation projects that advance, es-11
4343 tablish, or implement comprehensive, innova-12
4444 tive, evidence-based or evidence-informed child 13
4545 sexual abuse awareness and prevention pro-14
4646 grams by— 15
4747 ‘‘(i) improving student awareness of 16
4848 child sexual abuse in an age-appropriate 17
4949 manner, including how to recognize, pre-18
5050 vent, and safely report child sexual abuse; 19
5151 ‘‘(ii) training teachers, school employ-20
5252 ees, and other mandatory reporters and 21
5353 adults who work with children in a profes-22
5454 sional or volunteer capacity, including with 23
5555 respect to recognizing child sexual abuse 24
5656 and safely reporting child sexual abuse; or 25

6363 cluding how to prevent, recognize, respond 4
6464 to, and report child sexual abuse and how 5
6565 to discuss child sexual abuse with a child. 6
6666 ‘‘(B) R
6767 EPORTING.—Each entity receiving a 7
6868 grant under subparagraph (A) shall submit an 8
6969 annual report to the Secretary, for the duration 9
7070 of the grant period, on the projects carried out 10
7171 using such grant, including the number of par-11
7272 ticipants, the services provided, and the out-12
7373 comes of the projects, including participant 13
7474 evaluations.’’. 14

7676 EPORT ON EFFECTIVENESS OF EXPENDI-15
7777 TURES.—Not later than 5 years after the date on which 16
7878 the first grant is awarded under paragraph (8) of section 17
7979 105(a) of the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act 18
8080 (42 U.S.C. 5106(a)), as added by subsection (a), the 19
8181 Comptroller General of the United States shall— 20
8282 (1) prepare a report that describes the projects 21
8383 for which funds are expended under paragraph (8) 22
8484 of such section 105(a)(8) and evaluates the effective-23
8585 ness of those projects; and 24

9494 EPORT ONDUPLICATIVENATURE OFEXPENDI-5
9595 TURES.—Not later than 5 years after the date of enact-6
9696 ment of this Act, the Comptroller General of the United 7
9797 States shall— 8
9898 (1) prepare a report that examines whether the 9
9999 projects described in subsection (b) are duplicative 10
100100 of other activities supported by Federal funds; and 11
101101 (2) submit the report to the Committee on 12
102102 Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions of the Sen-13
103103 ate and the Committee on Education and the Work-14
104104 force of the House of Representatives. 15
