2626 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Inflation Prevention 4

3737 N GENERAL.—In the Senate, it shall not be 5

4242 an increase in the Consumer Price Index for All 10

4444 Labor Statistics, unless the annualized rate of in-12
4545 crease in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban 13
4646 Consumers most recently published by the Bureau of 14
4747 Labor Statistics is not more than 4.5 percent. 15

4949 OINT OF ORDER SUSTAINED .—If a point 16
5050 of order is made by a Senator against a provision 17
5151 described in paragraph (1), and the point of order 18
5252 is sustained by the Chair, that provision shall be 19
5353 stricken from the measure and may not be offered 20
5454 as an amendment from the floor. 21

5656 ORM OF THE POINT OF ORDER .—A point 22
5757 of order under subsection (a)(1) may be raised by a 23
5858 Senator as provided in section 313(e) of the Con-24

6363 (4) CONFERENCE REPORTS .—When the Senate 1
6464 is considering a conference report on, or an amend-2
6565 ment between the Houses in relation to, a bill or 3
6666 joint resolution, upon a point of order being made 4
6767 by any Senator pursuant to subsection (a)(1), and 5
6868 such point of order being sustained, such material 6
6969 contained in such conference report or House 7
7070 amendment shall be stricken, and the Senate shall 8
7171 proceed to consider the question of whether the Sen-9
7272 ate shall recede from its amendment and concur 10
7373 with a further amendment, or concur in the House 11
7474 amendment with a further amendment, as the case 12
7575 may be, which further amendment shall consist of 13
7676 only that portion of the conference report or House 14
7777 amendment, as the case may be, not so stricken. 15
7878 Any such motion in the Senate shall be debatable. 16
7979 In any case in which such point of order is sustained 17
