2424 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Taiwan Cybersecurity 4
2525 Resiliency Act of 2023’’. 5

3131 (a) R
3232 EQUIREMENT.—Not later than 180 days after 3
3333 the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of 4
3434 Defense, acting through the Under Secretary of Defense 5
3535 for Policy, in concurrence with the Secretary of State and 6
3636 in coordination with the Commander of the United States 7
3737 Cyber Command and the Commander of the United States 8
3838 Indo-Pacific Command, shall seek to engage the Govern-9
3939 ment of Taiwan for the purpose of expanding cooperation 10
4040 on military cybersecurity activities. 11
4141 (b) C
4242 OOPERATIONEFFORTS.—In expanding the co-12
4343 operation of military cybersecurity activities between the 13
4444 Department of Defense and the Government of Taiwan 14
4545 under subsection (a), the Secretary of Defense may carry 15
4646 out efforts to— 16
4747 (1) actively defend military networks, infra-17
4848 structure, and systems; 18
4949 (2) eradicate malicious cyber activity that has 19
5050 compromised such networks, infrastructure, and sys-20
5151 tems; 21
5252 (3) leverage United States commercial and mili-22
5353 tary cybersecurity technology and services to harden 23
5454 and defend such networks, infrastructure, and sys-24
5555 tems; and 25

6464 EQUIREMENT.—Not later than 180 days 4
6565 after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Sec-5
6666 retary of Defense, in coordination with the Secretary 6
6767 of State, shall provide to the appropriate congres-7
6868 sional committees a briefing on the implementation 8
6969 of this section. 9

7171 ONTENTS.—The briefing under paragraph 10
7272 (1) shall include the following: 11
7373 (A) A description of the feasibility and ad-12
7474 visability of expanding cooperation on military 13
7575 cybersecurity activities between the Department 14
7676 of Defense and the Government of Taiwan. 15
7777 (B) An identification of any challenges and 16
7878 resources necessary to be addressed so as to ex-17
7979 pand such cooperation. 18
8080 (C) An overview of efforts undertaken pur-19
8181 suant to this section. 20
8282 (D) Any other matters the Secretary deter-21
8383 mines relevant. 22
