29 | 29 | | NGENERAL.—Subtitle A of title XXII of the 3 |

31 | 31 | | is amended by adding at the end the following new section: 5 |

32 | 32 | | ‘‘SEC. 2220E. DHS CYBERSECURITY ON-THE-JOB TRAINING 6 |

33 | 33 | | AND EMPLOYMENT APPRENTICE PROGRAM. 7 |

35 | 35 | | NGENERAL.—Not later than 18 months after 8 |
---|
36 | 36 | | the date of the enactment of this section, the Secretary 9 |
---|
37 | 37 | | shall establish a ‘DHS Cybersecurity On-the-Job Training 10 |
---|
38 | 38 | | and Employment Apprentice Program’ (in this section re-11 |
---|
39 | 39 | | ferred to as the ‘Program’) to identify Department em-12 |
---|
40 | 40 | | ployees for work in matters relating to cybersecurity at 13 |
---|
41 | 41 | | the Department. The Program shall be led by the Direc-14 |
---|
42 | 42 | | tor. The Secretary may provide the Director with such of-15 |
---|
43 | 43 | | ficers or employees of the Department as are necessary 16 |
---|
44 | 44 | | to carry out the Program. 17 |
---|
45 | 45 | | ‘‘(b) D |

46 | 46 | | UTIES.—In carrying out the Program under 18 |
---|
47 | 47 | | subsection (a), the Director shall— 19 |
---|
48 | 48 | | ‘‘(1) submit to the Secretary a monthly report 20 |
---|
49 | 49 | | on the status of vacancies in cybersecurity positions 21 |
---|
50 | 50 | | throughout the Department; 22 |

51 | 51 | | ‘‘(2) identify diagnostic tools that can accu-23 |
---|
52 | 52 | | rately and reliably measure an individual’s capacity 24 |
---|
53 | 53 | | to perform cybersecurity related jobs or serve in po-25 |
