23 | 23 | | SEC. 2. ESTABLISHMENT. 6 |

33 | 33 | | Commission, the Commission shall transmit to Congress 5 |

34 | 34 | | a special message that includes recommendations and pro-6 |
---|
35 | 35 | | posed legislation for achieving solvency in each of the Fed-7 |
---|
36 | 36 | | eral Old-Age and Survivors Insurance Trust Fund and the 8 |
---|
37 | 37 | | Federal Disability Insurance Trust Fund for a period of 9 |
---|
38 | 38 | | at least 75 years beginning on the date that is 1 year after 10 |
---|
39 | 39 | | the initial meeting of the Commission. Such message shall 11 |
---|
40 | 40 | | be approved by at least 9 members of the Commission. 12 |

41 | 41 | | SEC. 4. MEMBERS. 13 |

43 | 43 | | UMBER ANDAPPOINTMENT.—The Commission 14 |

44 | 44 | | shall be composed of 13 members. Of the members of the 15 |

47 | 47 | | (2) 3 shall be appointed by the Speaker of the 18 |

110 | 110 | | and participation, and may hold such other hearings, sit 16 |
---|
111 | 111 | | and act at times and places, take testimony, and receive 17 |
---|

168 | 168 | | bursable basis, the administrative support services nec-11 |

169 | 169 | | essary for the Commission to carry out its responsibilities 12 |

172 | 172 | | IFTS, BEQUESTS, ANDDEVISES.—The Commis-14 |

173 | 173 | | sion may accept, use, and dispose of gifts, bequests, or 15 |

174 | 174 | | devises of services or property, both real and personal, for 16 |

175 | 175 | | the purpose of aiding or facilitating the work of the Com-17 |
---|
176 | 176 | | mission. Gifts, bequests, or devises of money and proceeds 18 |
---|
177 | 177 | | from sales of other property received as gifts, bequests, 19 |

178 | 178 | | or devises shall be deposited in the Treasury and shall be 20 |
