71	71	Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
72	72	tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
73	73	SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
74	74	This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Health Care Providers 4
75	75	Safety Act of 2023’’. 5
76	76	SEC. 2. GRANTS TO HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS TO EN-6
77	77	HANCE SECURITY. 7
78	78	Part P of title III of the Public Health Service Act 8
79	79	(42 U.S.C. 280g et seq.) (as amended by Public Law 117– 9
80	80	328) is amended by adding at the end the following: 10
81	81	‘‘SEC. 399V–8. GRANTS TO HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS TO EN-11
82	82	HANCE SECURITY. 12
83	83	‘‘(a) I
84	84	NGENERAL.—The Secretary may award grants 13
85	85	to health care providers to pay for security services and 14
86	86	otherwise enhance the physical and cyber security of their 15
87	87	facilities, personnel, and patients to ensure safe access. 16
88	88	‘‘(b) U
89	89	SE OFFUNDS.—A health care provider receiv-17
90	90	ing a grant under this section may use the grant to pay 18
91	91	the costs of necessary security services and enhancements 19
92	92	to physical access and cyber security, including video sur-20
