| 31 | 31 | | EDUCTION OFPAY.—If, by the end of the first 3 |

| 32 | 32 | | day of a Congress, the House of Representatives has not 4 |

| 33 | 33 | | elected a Speaker, the annual rate of pay applicable under 5 |

| 34 | 34 | | section 601(a) of the Legislative Reorganization Act of 6 |

| 35 | 35 | | 1946 (2 U.S.C. 4501) with respect to each Member of the 7 |

| 36 | 36 | | House of Representatives for the year shall be reduced by 8 |

| 37 | 37 | | an amount equal to the product of— 9 |

| 38 | 38 | | (1) an amount equal to one day’s worth of pay 10 |

| 46 | 46 | | tives which is covered under subparagraph (A), (B), or 17 |
