SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Data Recorders In-4
stalled in Vehicles Equipped So Armed Forces Endure 5
Act’’ or the ‘‘DRIVE SAFE Act’’. 6

SEC. 2. STUDY AND REPORT ON POTENTIAL INCLUSION OF 1
BLACK BOX DATA RECORDERS IN TACTICAL 2
VEHICLES. 3
(a) S
TUDY.—The Comptroller General of the United 4
States shall conduct a study to evaluate the feasability and 5
advisability of equipping all tactical vehicles of the Armed 6
Forces with black box data recorders. 7
(b) R
EPORT.—Not later than 180 days after the date 8
of the enactment of this Act, the Comptroller General shall 9
submit to the congressional defense committees a report 10
on the results of the study conducted under subsection (a). 11

ONGRESSIONAL DEFENSECOMMITTEESDE-12
FINED.—In this Act, the term ‘‘congressional defense 13
committees’’ has the meaning given that term in section 14
101(a)(16) of title 10, United States Code. 15
