18	18	Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
19	19	tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
20	20	SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
21	21	This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Theater Air and Mis-4
22	22	sile Defense Sufficiency Act of 2023’’. 5

31	31	TUDY.—The Secretary of Defense shall conduct 5
32	32	a study to determine whether the Department of Defense 6
33	33	has sufficient forces, systems, and capabilities to defend 7
34	34	Department of Defense military facilities and deployed 8
35	35	forces in the European and Indo-Pacific regions from 9
36	36	hypersonic-, ballistic-, cruise-missile and air attack, or to 10
37	37	otherwise defeat such attacks. 11

39	39	EPORT.— 12
40	40	(1) I
41	41	N GENERAL.—Not later than June 30, 13
42	42	2024, the Secretary shall submit to the congres-14
43	43	sional defense committees a report on the findings of 15
44	44	the study required by subsection (a). Such report 16
45	45	shall include a specific and detailed plan for ensur-17
46	46	ing the ability of the Department of Defense to de-18
47	47	fend Department of Defense military facilities and 19
48	48	deployed forces in the European and Indo-Pacific re-20
49	49	gions from hypersonic-, ballistic-, cruise-missile and 21
50	50	air attack through 2030. 22

52	52	ORM OF REPORT.—The report required by 23
53	53	this subsection shall be submitted in unclassified 24
54	54	form, but may include a classified annex. 25

58	58	(3) PUBLIC AVAILABILITY.—Not later than 14 1
59	59	days after the date of the submission of the report 2
60	60	required by paragraph (1), the Secretary shall make 3
61	61	an unclassified summary of the report available to 4
62	62	the public on an appropriate internet website of the 5
63	63	Department of Defense. 6
