1919 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Intelligence Commu-4
2020 nity Families Act’’. 5
2121 SEC. 2. IN-STATE TUITION RATES FOR CERTAIN MEMBERS 6

2424 NGENERAL.—Section 135(d) of the Higher 8
2525 Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 1015d(d)), as amended 9

2929 by section 6206(a)(4) of the Foreign Service Families Act 1
3030 of 2021 (Public Law 117–81), is further amended— 2
3131 (1) in paragraph (1), by striking ‘‘or’’ after the 3
3232 semicolon; 4
3333 (2) in paragraph (2), by striking the period at 5
3434 the end and inserting ‘‘; or’’; and 6
3535 (3) by adding at the end the following new 7
3636 paragraph: 8
3737 ‘‘(3) an officer or employee of an element of the 9
3838 intelligence community (as such term is defined in 10
3939 section 3 of the National Security Act of 1947 (50 11
4040 U.S.C. 3003)) who serves in a position of employ-12
4141 ment in such element for a period of more than 30 13
4242 days.’’. 14
4343 (b) E
4444 FFECTIVEDATE.—The amendments made by 15
4545 subsection (a) shall take effect at each public institution 16
4646 of higher education in a State that receives assistance 17
4747 under the Higher Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 1001 18
4848 et seq.) for the first period of enrollment at such institu-19
4949 tion that begins after July 1, 2024. 20
