11-SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 1
12-This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Police Our Border 2
13-Act’’. 3
14-SEC. 2. FINDINGS. 4
15-Congress finds as follows: 5
16-(1) Our Federal, State, local, and Tribal law 6
17-enforcement officers put their lives on the line each 7
18-day in order to protect our country and serve their 8
19-communities. 9
20-(2) According to the National Law Enforce-10
21-ment Officer Memorial Fund, 136 law enforcement 11
22-officers died in the line-of-duty in 2023. 12
23-(3) Congress should do everything in its power 13
24-to support law enforcement officers at every level 14
25-and in every part of our nation. 15
26-(4) The southwest border crisis created by the 16
27-Biden Administration has made every state a border 17
28-state. 18
29-(5) The Biden border crisis has placed a burden 19
30-on law enforcement agencies across the nation and 20
31-has placed a significant strain on the resources that 21
32-are critical to keeping communities safe. 22
33-(6) Law enforcement officers in every state are 23
34-put in life-threatening scenarios as a direct result of 24
35-the open borders. 25 3

37-(7) Law enforcement has been forced to deal 1
38-with the influx of fentanyl and many officers are ex-2
39-posed to the drug while on duty. 3
40-(8) It is in the best interest of law enforcement 4
41-officers and the communities they serve for Congress 5
42-to pass, and the President to sign into law, strong 6
43-border security legislation, and for the President to 7
44-utilize long standing authorities, including under 8
45-section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality 9
46-Act (8 U.S.C. 1182(f)), to secure the southern bor-10
47-der. 11
48-SEC. 3. REPORT. 12
49-Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment 13
50-of this Act, the Attorney General shall submit to Congress 14
51-a report on the impact the Biden border crisis is having 15
52-on law enforcement officers at the Federal, State, local, 16
53-and Tribal level, including— 17
54-(1) the estimated dollar amount of all resources 18
55-devoted to addressing the Biden border crisis, and 19
56-the extent to which such resources are not available 20
57-to law enforcement agencies; 21
58-(2) the exposure of law enforcement officers to 22
59-fentanyl resulting from encounters with illegal aliens 23
60-at the border and in the United States, and the na-24
61-tionality of each such alien; 25 4

63-(3) injuries to law enforcement officers based 1
64-on a connection to the Biden border crisis or expo-2
65-sure to fentanyl; 3
66-(4) the morale of law enforcement officers; 4
67-(5) the recruiting impact on hiring law enforce-5
68-ment as a result of the Biden border crisis; 6
69-(6) estimated dollar amount States expended on 7
70-local law enforcement efforts to investigate, inter-8
71-cept, and process, which includes the entire evidence 9
72-lifecycle, from collection and analysis to storage and 10
73-final destruction, fentanyl trafficked from the United 11
74-States border; and 12
75-(7) how many law enforcement officers have 13
76-been reassigned and local resources reallocated to in-14
77-vestigate, intercept, and process, which includes the 15
78-entire evidence lifecycle, from collection and analysis 16
79-to storage and final destruction, fentanyl trafficked 17
80-from the United States border. 18
