To clarify coverage of occupational therapy under the
Medicare program.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Occupational Therapy 4
Mental Health Parity Act’’. 5
SEC. 2. CLARIFYING COVERAGE OF OCCUPATIONAL THER-6
APY UNDER MEDICARE. 7
Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment 8
of this Act, the Secretary of Health and Human Services 9

shall provide education and outreach to stakeholders about 1
the Medicare Benefit Policy Manual with respect to occu-2
pational therapy services furnished to individuals under 3
the Medicare program for the treatment of a substance 4
use or mental health disorder diagnosis using applicable 5
Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) 6
codes. 7
