2727 SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
2828 This Act may be cited as ‘‘Sarah’s Law’’. 4

3333 CHARGED WITH A CRIME RESULTING IN 2
3434 DEATH OR SERIOUS BODILY INJURY. 3
3535 Section 236(c) of the Immigration and Nationality 4
3636 Act (8 U.S.C. 1226(c)) is amended— 5
3737 (1) in paragraph (1)— 6
3838 (A) in subparagraph (A), by striking the 7
3939 comma at the end and inserting a semicolon; 8
4040 (B) in subparagraph (B), by striking the 9
4141 comma at the end and inserting a semicolon; 10
4242 (C) in subparagraph (C)— 11
4343 (i) by striking ‘‘sentence’’ and insert-12
4444 ing ‘‘sentenced’’; and 13
4545 (ii) by striking ‘‘, or’’ and inserting a 14
4646 semicolon; 15
4747 (D) in subparagraph (D), by striking the 16
4848 comma at the end and inserting ‘‘; or’’; and 17
4949 (E) by inserting after subparagraph (D) 18
5050 the following: 19
5151 ‘‘(E)(i)(I) was not inspected and admitted 20
5252 into the United States; 21
5353 ‘‘(II) held a nonimmigrant visa (or other 22

6565 jury (as defined in section 1365(h)(3) of title 6
6666 18, United States Code) of another person,’’; 7

6868 (2) by adding at the end the following: 9
6969 ‘‘(3) N
7070 OTIFICATION REQUIREMENT .—Upon en-10
7171 countering or gaining knowledge of an alien de-11
7272 scribed in paragraph (1), the Assistant Secretary of 12
7373 Homeland Security for Immigration and Customs 13
7474 Enforcement shall make reasonable efforts— 14
7575 ‘‘(A) to obtain information from law en-15
7676 forcement agencies and from other available 16
7777 sources regarding the identity of any victims of 17
7878 the crimes for which such alien was charged or 18
7979 convicted; and 19
8080 ‘‘(B) to provide the victim or, if the victim 20
8181 is deceased, a parent, guardian, spouse, or clos-21
8282 est living relative of such victim, with informa-22
8383 tion, on a timely and ongoing basis, including— 23
8484 ‘‘(i) the alien’s full name, aliases, date 24
8585 of birth, and country of nationality; 25

9292 any changes related to the alien’s custody; 4

9494 ‘‘(iv) a description of any efforts by 6
9595 the United States Government to remove 7
9696 the alien from the United States.’’. 8
9797 SEC. 3. SAVINGS PROVISION. 9
9898 Nothing in this Act, or the amendments made by this 10
9999 Act, may be construed to limit the rights of crime victims 11
100100 under any other provision of law, including section 3771 12
101101 of title 18, United States Code. 13
