To provide authority to include funding requests for the
chemical and biological defense program in military de-
partment budget accounts.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Chemical and Biologi-4
cal Defense Program Improvement Act of 2023’’. 5

TARY DEPARTMENTS. 4
Section 1701(d)(2) of the National Defense Author-5
ization Act for Fiscal Year 1994 (50 U.S.C. 1522(d)(2)) 6
is amended by striking ‘‘may not be included in the budget 7
accounts’’ and inserting ‘‘may be included in the budget 8
accounts’’. 9
