SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Junior Enlisted Hous-4
ing Affordability Act of 2023’’. 5

SEC. 2. MODIFICATION OF CALCULATION METHOD FOR 1
BASIC ALLOWANCE FOR HOUSING TO MORE 2
ACCURATELY ASSESS HOUSING COSTS OF 3
JUNIOR MEMBERS OF UNIFORMED SERVICES. 4
Section 403(b)(5) of title 37, United States Code, is 5
amended, in the second sentence, by striking ‘‘and shall 6
be based on the following:’’ and all that follows through 7
‘‘determined in subparagraph (A)’’. 8
