To establish an earlier application processing cycle for the
FAFSA.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘FAFSA Deadline Act 4
of 2024’’. 5
SEC. 2. FAFSA SUBMISSION DATE. 6
Section 483(d)(4) of the Higher Education Act of 7
1965 (20 U.S.C. 1090(d)(4)) is amended by striking ‘‘not 8
later than January 1 of the applicant’s planned year of 9
enrollment, to the maximum extent practicable, on or 10
around October 1 prior to the applicant’s planned year 11
