Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Specialist Joey Lenz 4
Act of 2025’’. 5

SEC. 2. REQUIREMENTS FOR PERIODIC HEALTH ASSESS-1
MENTS. 2
Chapter 55 of title 10, United States Code, is amend-3
ed by inserting after section 1074o the following new sec-4
tion (and conforming the table of sections accordingly): 5
‘‘§ 1074p. Periodic health assessments 6
‘‘Beginning in 2026, the Secretary of Defense shall 7
ensure that periodic health assessments provided to a 8
member of the armed forces include the following: 9
‘‘(1) On an annual basis— 10
‘‘(A) a sports physical; 11
‘‘(B) an electrocardiogram; and 12
‘‘(C) blood work that includes— 13
‘‘(i) a comprehensive metabolic panel 14
and complete blood count; and 15
‘‘(ii) if necessary— 16
‘‘(I) a thyroid stimulating hor-17
mone test; and 18
‘‘(II) a brain natriuretic peptide 19
test. 20
‘‘(2) Any test or evaluation required by law 21
with respect to such member, including an evalua-22
tion required by section 704 of the National Defense 23
Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020 (Public Law 24
116–92; 10 U.S.C. 1074f note) and a test required 25
by section 707 of such Act (10 U.S.C. 1074 note). 26

appropriate by the Secretary.’’. 2
