To amend the Southwest Forest Health and Wildfire Preven-
tion Act of 2004 to require the establishment of an
additional Institute under that Act.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Utah Wildfire Re-4
search Institute Act of 2025’’. 5

SEC. 2. ADDITIONAL INSTITUTE. 1
(a) I
NGENERAL.—Section 5(b)(2) of the Southwest 2
Forest Health and Wildfire Prevention Act of 2004 (16 3
U.S.C. 6704(b)(2)) is amended— 4
(1) in subparagraph (B), by striking ‘‘and’’ at 5
the end; 6
(2) in subparagraph (C), by striking the period 7
at the end and inserting ‘‘; and’’; and 8
(3) by adding at the end the following: 9
‘‘(D) the State of Utah.’’. 10
(b) C
ONFORMINGAMENDMENT.—Section 5(e)(1) of 11
the Southwest Forest Health and Wildfire Prevention Act 12
of 2004 (16 U.S.C. 6704(e)(1)) is amended by striking 13
‘‘and Colorado’’ and inserting ‘‘Colorado, and Utah’’. 14
