2929 NGENERAL.—Section 501(c)(1) of the District 4
3030 of Columbia Police and Firemen’s Salary Act of 1958 (sec. 5
3131 5–545.01(c)(1), D.C. Official Code) is amended to read 6

3333 ‘‘(1) The annual rates of basic compensation of 8

146146 FFECTIVEDATE.—This section and the amend-9
147147 ments made by this section shall take effect on the first 10
148148 day of the first pay period beginning on or after the date 11
