69 | 69 | | mation required to be provided by a Federal firearms li-4 |

70 | 70 | | censee to a prospective firearm transferee, and ensure that 5 |
---|
71 | 71 | | the information includes— 6 |
---|
72 | 72 | | (1) that firearms should be stored unloaded, out 7 |
---|
73 | 73 | | of the reach of children and other persons without 8 |
---|
74 | 74 | | authorized access, and separately from ammunition; 9 |
---|
75 | 75 | | (2) that stored firearms should be secured with 10 |
---|
76 | 76 | | a locking device; 11 |
---|
77 | 77 | | (3) a statement as to the importance of secure 12 |
---|
78 | 78 | | storage, including data on the risks of unsecured 13 |
---|
79 | 79 | | firearms and benefits of securely stored firearms in 14 |
---|
80 | 80 | | relation to firearm suicide, firearm homicide and as-15 |
---|
81 | 81 | | sault, school firearm violence, unintentional shoot-16 |
---|
82 | 82 | | ings, and theft; and 17 |
---|
83 | 83 | | (4) guidance on the most secure types of de-18 |
---|
84 | 84 | | vices, including the advantages of gun safes and lock 19 |

85 | 85 | | boxes compared to trigger and cable locks. 20 |

129 | 129 | | credits allowed under this section with respect to such tax-10 |

132 | 132 | | UALIFIEDGUNSAFE.—For purposes of this 12 |

133 | 133 | | section, the term ‘qualified gun safe’ means any safe, gun 13 |
---|
134 | 134 | | safe, gun case, lock box, or other device— 14 |
---|
135 | 135 | | ‘‘(1) the original use of which commences with 15 |
---|
136 | 136 | | the taxpayer, 16 |
---|
137 | 137 | | ‘‘(2) which is acquired by the taxpayer— 17 |
---|
138 | 138 | | ‘‘(A) to store one or more firearms, and 18 |
---|
139 | 139 | | ‘‘(B) not for resale, 19 |
---|
140 | 140 | | ‘‘(3) which is designed, or can be used, for the 20 |
---|
141 | 141 | | secure and fully-contained storage of one or more 21 |
---|
142 | 142 | | firearms, and 22 |
---|
143 | 143 | | ‘‘(4) which is designed to be unlocked only by 23 |

144 | 144 | | authorized users by means of a key, a combination, 24 |
