135135 ees shall ensure that it seeks and utilizes 21
136136 to its maximum ability guidance from a 22
137137 broad array of knowledgeable and re-23
138138 spected sources reflecting the diversity of 24
139139 the political viewpoints and authentic expe-25

154154 nities, to include varied viewpoints, 11
155155 political ideologies, cultures, and lived 12
156156 experiences in the United States; and 13
157157 ‘‘(II) the term ‘knowledgeable 14
158158 and respected source’ means an indi-15
159159 vidual who has gained through edu-16
160160 cation, publication, or witnessing an 17
161161 important or historical event, the abil-18
162162 ity to advise on at least one unique 19
163163 viewpoint or experience of a particular 20
164164 Hispanic or Latino community, and 21
165165 whose knowledge has been relied upon 22
166166 by a notable segment of that commu-23
167167 nity for education, heritage preserva-24
168168 tion, or historical purposes, and in-25

177177 days after the date of enactment of this Act and every 5
178178 2 years thereafter, the Secretary of the Smithsonian shall 6
179179 submit to the Committee on Natural Resources of the 7
180180 House of Representatives, the Committee on Energy and 8
181181 Natural Resources of the Senate, the Committee on House 9
182182 Administration of the House of Representatives, the Com-10
183183 mittee on Rules and Administration of the Senate, the 11
184184 Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the 12
185185 House of Representatives, the Committee on Appropria-13
186186 tions of the House of Representatives, and the Committee 14
187187 on Appropriations of the Senate, a report on actions taken 15
188188 by the Director of the Smithsonian National Museum of 16
189189 the American Latino Museum and the Board of Trustees 17
190190 of the Museum to comply with the requirements of the 18
191191 amendments made by subsection (c), including a descrip-19
192192 tion of actions taken with respect to substantial revisions 20
193193 of current exhibits and programs as well the planning of 21
194194 future exhibits and programs. 22
