3434 (a) I
3535 NGENERAL.—Section 3301(1) of title 38, 5
3636 United States Code, is amended— 6
3737 (1) by amending subparagraph (B) to read as 7
3838 follows: 8
3939 ‘‘(B) In the case of members of the reserve 9
4040 components of the Armed Forces— 10
4141 ‘‘(i) service on active duty (as defined 11
4242 in section 101(d) of title 10), inactive-duty 12
4343 training (as defined in section 101(d) of 13
4444 title 10), or annual training duty; or 14
4545 ‘‘(ii) service on active duty under a 15
4646 call or order to active duty under section 16
4747 688, 12301(a), 12301(d), 12301(g), 17
4848 12301(h), 12302, 12304, 12304a, or 18
4949 12304b of title 10 or section 3713 of title 19
5050 14, but not including inactive duty training 20
5151 (as defined in section 101(d) of title 10) or 21
5252 annual training duty.’’; and 22
5353 (2) in subparagraph (C)— 23
5454 (A) in clause (i), by striking ‘‘; or’’ and in-24
5555 serting a semicolon; and 25

6868 FFECTIVEDATE.—The amendments made by 9
6969 subsection (a) shall take effect on the date that is one 10
7070 year after the date of the enactment of this Act. 11

7272 ETROACTIVE APPLICABILITY.—The amend-12
7373 ments made by subsection (a) shall apply with respect to 13
7474 service performed on or after September 11, 2001. 14

7676 PPLICATION OFTIMELIMITATION FORUSE OF 15

7878 NTITLEMENT.—Section 3321(a) of title 38, United 16
7979 States Code, shall apply to entitlement to educational as-17
8080 sistance acquired as a result of the amendments made by 18
8181 subsection (a) as if such amendments had been enacted 19
8282 immediately after the enactment of the Post-9/11 Vet-20
8383 erans Educational Assistance Act of 2008 (Public Law 21
8484 110–252). 22
