186186 SEC. 4. ADMINISTRATION OF WILDERNESS AREAS. 20

188188 NGENERAL.—Subject to valid existing rights, 21
189189 the Secretary shall administer the wilderness areas in ac-22
190190 cordance with this section and the Wilderness Act (16 23
191191 U.S.C. 1131 et seq.), except that— 24

205205 N GENERAL.—The Secretary may carry out 9
206206 any activities in a wilderness area as are necessary 10
207207 for the control of fire, insects, or disease in accord-11
208208 ance with section 4(d)(1) of the Wilderness Act (16 12
209209 U.S.C. 1133(d)(1)). 13

211211 OORDINATION.—In carrying out para-14
212212 graph (1), the Secretary shall coordinate with— 15
213213 (A) the Wyoming Forestry Division; and 16
214214 (B) the applicable county in the State in 17
215215 which the wilderness area is located. 18

217217 IRE MANAGEMENT PLAN .—Not later than 19
218218 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the 20
219219 Secretary shall establish a fire management plan for 21
220220 the wilderness areas— 22
221221 (A) to ensure the timely and efficient con-23
222222 trol of fires, diseases, and insects in the wilder-24
223223 ness areas, in accordance with section 4(d)(1) 25

232232 to any Federal, State, or private land adjacent 6
233233 to the wilderness areas. 7

235235 RAZING.—The grazing of livestock in a wilder-8
236236 ness area, if established before the date of enactment of 9
237237 this Act, shall be administered in accordance with— 10
238238 (1) section 4(d)(4) of the Wilderness Act (16 11
239239 U.S.C. 1133(d)(4)); and 12
240240 (2) the guidelines set forth in Appendix A of 13
241241 House Report 101–405, accompanying H.R. 2570 of 14
242242 the 101st Congress, for land under the jurisdiction 15
243243 of the Secretary of the Interior. 16

245245 UFFERZONES.— 17

247247 N GENERAL.—Nothing in this section es-18
248248 tablishes a protective perimeter or buffer zone 19
249249 around a wilderness area. 20

251251 UTSIDE ACTIVITIES OR USES .—The fact 21
252252 that a nonwilderness activity or use can be seen or 22
253253 heard from within a wilderness area shall not pre-23
254254 clude the activity or use outside the boundary of the 24
255255 wilderness area. 25

264264 wilderness study area described in subsection (b) that is 5
265265 not designated as a wilderness area by section 3 has been 6
266266 adequately studied for wilderness designation. 7
