A BILL
To require the United States Postal Service to apply certain
requirements when closing a processing, shipping, deliv-
ery, or other facility supporting a post office, and for
other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Postal Processing Pro-4
tection Act’’. 5
SEC. 2. AMENDMENTS. 6
Section 404(d) of title 39, United States Code, is 7
amended— 8

(1) in paragraph (1), by striking ‘‘any post of-1
fice’’ and inserting ‘‘any post office, or any accept-2
ance, processing, shipping, delivery, distribution, or 3
other facility that is owned or operated by the Postal 4
Service that supports 1 or more post offices’’; 5
(2) in paragraph (2)— 6
(A) in the matter preceding subparagraph 7
(A), by striking ‘‘a post office’’ and inserting ‘‘a 8
post office, or an acceptance, processing, ship-9
ping, delivery, distribution, or other facility that 10
is owned or operated by the Postal Service that 11
supports 1 or more post offices’’; and 12
(B) in subparagraph (A)(iii), by striking 13
‘‘post offices’’ and inserting ‘‘post offices, or ac-14
ceptance, processing, shipping, delivery, dis-15
tribution, or other facilities that are owned or 16
operated by the Postal Service that support 1 17
or more post offices,’’; 18
(3) in paragraph (3), by striking ‘‘a post office’’ 19
and inserting ‘‘a post office, or an acceptance, proc-20
essing, shipping, delivery, distribution, or other facil-21
ity that is owned or operated by the Postal Service 22
that supports 1 or more post offices,’’; 23
(4) in paragraph (4), by striking ‘‘a post office’’ 24
and inserting ‘‘a post office, or an acceptance, proc-25
