CREDITABLE SERVICE FOR TEMPORARY EMPLOY-1 EES SERVING AFTER 1988. 2 (a) I NGENERAL.—Section 8411(3) of title 5, United 3 States Code, is amended by striking ‘‘performed before 4 January 1, 1989,’’. 5 (b) A PPLICATION.—The amendment made by sub-6 section (a) shall apply to any individual who is an em-7 ployee (as that term is defined in paragraph (11) of sec-8 tion 8401 of title 5, United States Code), including tem-9 porary employees of the United States Postal Service, or 10 a Member (as that term is defined in paragraph (20) of 11 such section) on or after the date of enactment of this 12 Act. 13 (c) N OTIFICATION.—The Director of the Office of 14 Personnel Management shall notify agency Chief Human 15 Capital Officers or other appropriate agency officials for 16 purposes of providing notice to employees and Members 17 who are eligible to make a deposit for service by operation 18 of the amendment made by subsection (a). 19 (d) R EGULATIONS.—The Director of the Office of 20 Personnel Management shall promulgate regulations to 21 carry out this Act and the amendments made by this Act. 22 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 02:09 Mar 13, 2025 Jkt 059200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H1522.IH H1522 kjohnson on DSK7ZCZBW3PROD with $$_JOB
