To provide for the inclusion of uranium on the list of critical
minerals, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Uranium for Energy 4
Independence Act of 2025’’. 5
SEC. 2. URANIUM CRITICAL MINERAL STATUS. 6
Notwithstanding the exclusion of fuel minerals from 7
the definition of the term ‘‘critical mineral’’ under any 8
Federal law, regulation, or Executive order, uranium— 9

(1) is deemed to be included on the 2022 final 1
list of critical minerals in the notice entitled ‘‘2022 2
Final List of Critical Minerals’’ published by the 3
United States Geological Survey (87 Fed. Reg. 4
10381; February 24, 2022), and shall be treated as 5
if included on that list at the time of publication; 6
and 7
(2) shall be included on each subsequent list of 8
critical minerals published pursuant to section 7002 9
of the Energy Act of 2020 (30 U.S.C. 1606). 10
