3131 Part B of title III of the Public Health Service Act 2
3232 is amended by inserting after section 317V (42 U.S.C. 3
3333 247b–24) the following new section: 4
3434 ‘‘SEC. 317W. CLIMATE READY TRIBES INITIATIVE. 5

3636 NGENERAL.—The Secretary, acting through 6
3737 the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Pre-7
3838 vention, in coordination with the National Indian Health 8
3939 Board, shall implement the Climate Ready Tribes Initia-9
4040 tive for the following purposes: 10
4141 ‘‘(1) Translating climate change science to in-11
4242 form Tribal governments, health departments, and 12
4343 communities. 13
4444 ‘‘(2) Creating decision-support tools to build ca-14
4545 pacity to prepare for climate change. 15
4646 ‘‘(3) Serving as a credible leader in planning 16
4747 and preparing for the public health impacts of cli-17
4848 mate change. 18
4949 ‘‘(4) Identifying, assessing, and taking action to 19
5050 mitigate climate-related health threats. 20
5151 ‘‘(5) Sharing relevant materials and resources, 21
5252 including information about funding and other op-22
5353 portunities. 23

5555 UTHORIZATION OFAPPROPRIATIONS.— 24
