17	17	To amend the Public Health Service Act to require the
18	18	Secretary of Health and Human Services, acting through
19	19	the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and
20	20	Prevention, to implement the Climate Ready Tribes Ini-
21	21	tiative.
22	22	Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
23	23	tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
24	24	SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
25	25	This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Tribal Climate Health 4
26	26	Assurance Act of 2025’’. 5

30	30	SEC. 2. CLIMATE READY TRIBES INITIATIVE. 1
31	31	Part B of title III of the Public Health Service Act 2
32	32	is amended by inserting after section 317V (42 U.S.C. 3
33	33	247b–24) the following new section: 4
34	34	‘‘SEC. 317W. CLIMATE READY TRIBES INITIATIVE. 5
35	35	‘‘(a) I
36	36	NGENERAL.—The Secretary, acting through 6
37	37	the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Pre-7
38	38	vention, in coordination with the National Indian Health 8
39	39	Board, shall implement the Climate Ready Tribes Initia-9
40	40	tive for the following purposes: 10
41	41	‘‘(1) Translating climate change science to in-11
42	42	form Tribal governments, health departments, and 12
43	43	communities. 13
44	44	‘‘(2) Creating decision-support tools to build ca-14
45	45	pacity to prepare for climate change. 15
46	46	‘‘(3) Serving as a credible leader in planning 16
47	47	and preparing for the public health impacts of cli-17
48	48	mate change. 18
49	49	‘‘(4) Identifying, assessing, and taking action to 19
50	50	mitigate climate-related health threats. 20
51	51	‘‘(5) Sharing relevant materials and resources, 21
52	52	including information about funding and other op-22
53	53	portunities. 23

55	55	UTHORIZATION OFAPPROPRIATIONS.— 24

59	59	‘‘(1) IN GENERAL.—To carry out this section, 1
60	60	there is authorized to be appropriated $110,000,000 2
61	61	for fiscal year 2026 and each fiscal year thereafter. 3

63	63	IMITATION.—None of the funds made 4
64	64	available under paragraph (1) may be transferred or 5
65	65	reprogrammed by the Secretary to carry out another 6
66	66	program administered by the Secretary.’’. 7
