18		-	NGENERAL.—Section 831 of the Homeland Se-7
19		-	curity Act of 2002 (6 U.S.C. 391) is amended— 8
20		-	(1) in subsection (a)— 9
21		-	(A) in the matter preceding paragraph (1), 10
22		-	by striking ‘‘Until September 30, 2024, and 11
23		-	subject to subsection (d)’’ and inserting ‘‘Until 12
24		-	September 30, 2028, and subject to subsection 13
25		-	(c)’’; and 14
26		-	(B) by adding at the end the following new 15
27		-	paragraph: 16
	29	+	NGENERAL.—Section 831 of the Homeland Se-3
	30	+	curity Act of 2002 (6 U.S.C. 391) is amended— 4
	31	+	(1) in subsection (a)— 5
	32	+	(A) in the matter preceding paragraph (1), 6
	33	+	by striking ‘‘Until September 30, 2024, and 7
	34	+	subject to subsection (d)’’ and inserting ‘‘Until 8
	35	+	September 30, 2028, and subject to subsection 9
	36	+	(c)’’; and 10
	37	+	(B) by adding at the end the following new 11
	38	+	paragraph: 12

30		-	ING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE .—Not later than 72 18
31		-	hours after the use or extension of the transaction 19

33		-	artificial intelligence technology, the Secretary shall 21
34		-	notify the Committee on Appropriations and the 22
35		-	Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental 23
36		-	Affairs of the Senate and the Committee on Appro-24
37		-	priations and the Committee on Homeland Security 25 3

40		-	explaining the reason for the use or extension.’’; and 2
