REPORTS ON MAIL AND POSTAL SERVICE PROP-1 ERTY THEFT. 2 (a) I NGENERAL.—Not later than 1 year after the 3 date of the enactment of this section and each year there-4 after for 5 years, the Comptroller General of the United 5 States shall investigate nationwide patterns and instances 6 of the theft of mail, delays of mail, United States Postal 7 Service employee violations investigated by the Office of 8 the Inspector General of the Postal Service, any other 9 criminal or civil violations under the jurisdiction of the 10 Postal Inspection Service, and the theft or vandalism of 11 Postal Service property, and submit a report on each such 12 investigation to the Committee on Oversight and Govern-13 ment Reform of the House of Representatives and the 14 Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Af-15 fairs of the Senate. 16 (b) C ONTENTS.—Any report under subsection (a) 17 shall include a description of any measures the Postal 18 Service has in place to address violations described under 19 such subsection and recommendations on how the Postal 20 Service and Congress can combat such violations. 21 (c) C ONSULTATION.—In carrying out this section, the 22 Comptroller General shall consult with the Inspector Gen-23 eral of the Postal Service and the Postal Inspection Serv-24 ice. 25 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 23:29 Mar 17, 2025 Jkt 059200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H1760.IH H1760 ssavage on LAPJG3WLY3PROD with BILLS
